There are too many people getting away with bullying others online. It spreads to the real-world and causes pain and suffering, sometimes physical, to the victims. Amanda Todd is a recent victim. No one cared about her plight before she committed suicide, however, with a law that makes cyber-bullying illegal, others like Amanda can get help.
There are many crimes that make bullying illegal, however, there is nothing that makes Cyber-bullying illegal. Online words can hurt just as much as the spoken word. You can turn off Facebook, Twitter and email, but that doesn't prevent others from talking about you, nor does it prevent them from saying something about you physically. Turning it off isn't easy either. If you go online to talk to your friends, you will see the messages. You can block those messages or users, but there will be more. Where does it end?
With making it illegal! It is NOT a Criminal Code offence! Sign this petition so we can convince the Canadian Parlaiment to make it a Criminal Code offence!
