Make November 11 a statutory holiday.

Make November 11 a statutory holiday.
November 11 (Remembrance Day) should most certainly be a statutory holiday. These brave men and women fought and sacrificed their lives to make this, our home, a free country. They deserve so much to have a day in which everything stops; where people think, where people take a moment to appreciate what they have and how things could've been very different if these courageous men and women hadn't devoted their lives fighting for ours.
I'm sure if we think about it the majority of us have a grandfather, grandmother, mother, father, brother or sister even sons and daughters out there defending our way of life. Tell me, do you not feel they deserve to be shown our gratitude for that.
The Government of Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Quebec and Ontario do not recognize Remembrance Day as a statutory holiday; a provincial holiday day which has been recognized by Canada since November 11, 1931.
These astonishing vertans are not respected the way they have most certainly warranted. It's not much to have a statutory holiday dedicated to you, especially after everything they've faced and are even still facing. In service or not we all owe our lives to these men and women and that should never be forgotten. Lest we forget.
