Gmo products have been proven scientifically in the last year to be toxic in rats. The side effects being at minimum tumors, as well as liver and kidney damage. 50% of the male rats and 70% of the female rats died prematurely. At present the following countries have already banned GMO products in light of there concerns. This list includes

Africa: Algeria, Egypt

Asia: Sri Lanka, Thailand, China, Japan, Phillipines

Europe: The European Union, Norway, Austria, Germany United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Luxembourg, Portugal

Latin America: Brazil, Paraguay

Middle East: Saudi Arabia

Pacific: American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Australia, New Zealand

With our closet neighbours apparent complete acceptance of these products (with a couple of exceptions at the local level) as safe and the apparent use of these products through out their country and the information being made available that they are actually expanding there use of these products instead of cutting the products in light of the concerns. I feel with our countries perspective on our health and the push within the Canadian society towards healthier eating, more natural lifestyles their risk to our society as a whole is beyond acceptable.

We as a society must at the earliest convenience bring this law to pass to protect ourselves as a society from the dangers of these products and the possible risks to ourselves, our children and there futures.
