Drug abuse is a major problem in our world, especially in Vancouver BC. As a part of our Social Justice 12 course we were asked to pick a cause that interested us and make a difference. As residents of the Lower Mainland, we have seen the effects of drug abuse in Vancouver first hand. Drug addiction is a disease that can effect a persons brain and their behaviour. If addiction continues, the user will be unable to function in everyday life without it. The use of drugs can lead to issues regarding a persons social life, family life, and job opportunities. 

Drug abuse in downtown Vancouver is leaving the community unsafe for everyone (whether they are the ones using drugs or not). Vancouver has even been considered a disaster zone of Canada's drug policies. We are aiming to help people who are suffering from drug abuse, while also keeping the community safe.

We have spoken with the people at Together We Can ( https://twcrecoverylife.org/ ) and they have decided to help us with our campaign.

Together We Can was founded in 1993 and is located in both Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island. They are an addiction recovery & education society and are one of Canada’s premier treatment centres for men battling alcohol and drug addiction. Their mission is to educate and support men and families who desire a new life in the recovery process.
 

All donations made will be sent straight to the people at Together We Can to help support them in aiding Vancouver residents with drug abuse and addiction problems.
