The Rana Plaza factory was a garment factory that fell on April 24th 2013. Before the factory fell which injured and killed thousands of people the workers were already being mistreated, many sources reveal that on the day of the factory collapse almost 4000 workers refused to come into work because of the very unstable conditions the factory presented, such as cracks in the walls and broken water pipes. However the owner of the factory hired gang members to come beat the men and women workers hitting them with sticks to force them to go into the factory, and managers from different departments of the factory threatened to take away a months’ worth of pay from them if they didn’t present themselves to work that day, and if the workers didn’t get paid they would be unable to feed their families, so they were left with no choice but to go to work on the day of the collapse, even though their managers knew it was unsafe, they did it merely to get the profits. Many of the injured people on the day of the collapse had to lose their limbs, and some people had to face the worst of all: death. And now two years on from that preventable day, many of the former employees at the factory received little to no compensation from their employers, and now they are left unemployed and struggling to feed their families.

Several hundreds of people lost limbs, the ability to work and their loved ones since the collapse of the Rana Plaza Factory collapse. Most of the families suffered severe damages and loss to their financial state because of the collapse, and the least the factory and the company who hired the workers can do is give the survivors and the families of the workers who died compensation, as they will live the rest of their lives remembering and living with the damages of the fatal Rana Plaza factory collapse.
