Even though it won't affect me directly I believe that after the long haul up to Christmas people who work in retail and warehouse organisations should be entitled to have Boxing Day as a day free from work.

This not only gives them an extra day off it also enables them to enjoy Christmas Day without having to worry about having to get up at some unnecessary and godforsaken hour on Boxing Day!

It also means that the children of these workers will have more time with their loved ones at this family orientated time of year.

For the rest of us it means one more day of peace without the roads being clogged up by people dashing about in cars so it is of benefit to the environment!

We would need less policeman , less traffic wardens, less lorry,  van and public  tansport drivers having to work. Britain would be a happier place!

The retailers would have one more day to save on their energy and labour costs. By delaying their 'Sales' one day will not affect  their overall turnover or their profits.

For me it is a 'No brainer' everyone involved would benefit by having an extended winter break. Please sign my petition and make Britain a nicer place to live.
