We are calling on the Government to all our children to keep dancing and moving and ensure dance schools are classes as an essential service for the mental and physical wellbeing of the children of this country.

Children need their dancing. Like all other sports dancing is just as important as an outlet for stress, anxiety and depression. This could be the best hour of our children's day where they can clear their head and think straight and as a result be ready to focus on their studies and schoolwork after this release.

Our physical health and our children's health is also just as important right now. We are being told that being fit and healthy will help you fight this virus. More and more we are hearing about the increase in childhood obesity and studies have also shown that children's fitness levels have also declined. There is a large number of our children involved in dancing and like most elite athletes these children train just as hard everyday and in order to do so they need a suitable environment.

Now that we have another lockdown to come in to force on Thursday, the closing of our dance classes is going to affect our children both mentally and physically and cause long-lasting effects for them, their families and their loved ones.

Our dance schools are covid safe, school principals/owners and teachers have done full and through risk assessments to ensure all the necessary steps have been taken to ensure the safety of teachers, children and parents/cares dropping off and picking up at dance schools.

Please support us by signing this petition so we can bring it to the government to get them to deem dancing classes an essential service for our children's mental and physical well being.
