Through this era, women should gained equal rights such as a right to an education, a right to work and impartiality. Every woman should have freedom to make her own choices and claim her rights. Women’s movements have the power to change this. We are all entitled to human rights. These include the right to live free from violence and discrimination. Through research, advocacy and campaigning, amnesty international pressures the people in power to respect women's rights.

Protecting women’s rights makes the world a better place. “Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls is not just a goal in itself, but a key to sustainable development, economic growth and peace and security”. Society gets better for everyone when women’s rights are upheld and taken seriously.

There are a number of ways in which Human Rights field presences assist in efforts to make human rights a reality; not only do they monitor the human rights situation in countries, but they also help build the capacity of Member States and other duty-bearers to address human rights issues. In campaigns that include community mobilization, raising financial and in kind contributions from the communities involved can give a boost to the campaign. Different types of people can be approached for individual donor support to a campaign. Community donor support can come from organizations such as small businesses, associations and clubs.
