Ben Hancock started this petition to Government

Keeping animals safe regardless of type is a challenge, however if you have horses or livestock the challenge is even bigger.

Animals that don't have an indoor space are subject to all noises and flashes caused by fireworks, although there are laws in place they are often breached and welfare of animals not taken in to consideration. It is well documented through personal experiences the issues caused by firework displays on livestock and the problems it causes.

The aim of this partition is to make firework displays licenced and not to ban them completely as it does bring enjoyment to many people, something to take the kids to and socialise.

What I'd like to see is the purchase of fireworks to be to licence holders only, where any problems caused is accountable and rightful compensation paid for loss or injury caused by these events where negligence is to blame (not giving fair warning directly to land owner, bad wind conditions scattering debris over livestock and buildings). If you choose to have a display which effects other people or amimals you should be responsible for any issues caused as a consequence.

I know there is a lot of support for this action to be made and a lot would like a complete ban, but done correctly it would benefit everyone and still gove people tje chance to see and enjoy the experiance of a well planned firework display. For warning and consideration to farmers and equestrian facilities would make a huge difference.

If you would like to see a change please sign this partition.
