John Morris started this petition to Government

Covid-19 has seen Nottingham's key workers step up and provide services for the most vulnerable residents in Nottingham when they were needed most. Thousands of frontline key workers are employed directly or indirectly by Nottingham City Council, such as care workers, bus drivers, bin lorry crews, meals on wheels and community protection officers and many more.

These people have helped us through the crisis, they've kept our vital services running and helped to protect our most vulnerable residents, we couldn't have come this far without them.

Nottingham City Council has seen estimated costs and lost income due to Covd-19 soar to £78m and despite some support the Government has left Nottingham with £28m worth of unfunded covid costs. The message is clear, the Government needs to honour its promise to stand shoulder to shoulder with councils. Key workers in Nottingham stepped up, now the Government needs to pay up and fund the cost of Covid-19 as was promised.

Join our campaign calling on the Government to make good on its promises to each and every one of us.
