Hannah Schofield started this petition to Government

I have a heart condition called Cardiomyopathy. Many people have it and it is a condition that we have to live with for the rest of our lives.
I have to take 3 different medications daily to keep my heart functioning and to try and stop it from deteriorating! Other people can take a lot more different medications daily. Some of us would die within a short period of time if we did not take these medications. Cardiomyopathy is a debilitating condition which affects us 24/7. Walking upstairs or round a supermarket can be extremely exhausting for us and sometimes we need to sleep after doing such menial tasks!

My prescriptions cost me £28.05 every month. This is alongside my 4 other medications which I have to take. A total of £65.45 a month, for medication to keep me going!! That’s £785 a year!! Imagine paying such costs just to keep you alive!!
By making heart medications free, this will help make it easier for people like me to live, what we class as, our ‘normal’ life! It is anything but normal but we keep on going!
people with thyroid problems and diabetes get their ‘life saving’ medications free of charge! Yet people with cardiomyopathy and similar heart conditions have to pay a lot to get our ‘life saving’ medications.
I ask that the government look at prescription charges for people with heart conditions and reconsider the costs for our life saving medication
