The holiday season is set to resume on 1st June 2020, and people from all over the UK are being invited to travel to the South West to holiday after this date.

We do not feel that it is safe for thousands of people to be travelling unnecessarily to our region. It will be extremely detrimental to efforts to slow/stop the COVID1-19 spread in Devon and Cornwall, and will also have an impact on our medical resources and key worker infrastructure at this crucial time.

We understand that that Cornwall & Devon are tourist attractions, but we do not want our counties to be used as a lockdown-easing trial areas. We are not happy to have safety and lives compromised.

It is is far too soon to allow this to happen, and it will endanger residents in the South West.

We are petitioning to have clear guidance issued to holiday parks stating that closure will be required until July 2020 at the earliest. They should also be warned that this date is likely to be extended even further if necessary, and they should be asked to advise customers accordingly.
