Consultation with Black Community of who leads on Racial Inequality Review

Boris Johnson has announced he has appointed his Downing Street aide, Munira Mirza to lead a commission on racial inequality. The same woman who stated it was not racism but “anti- racist lobby groups” to blame for some of the problems ethnic minorities faced. For hundreds of years black people’s voices have been heard in a whisper, and but for the harrowing 8 minutes and 46 seconds, which ended George Floyd’s life we are now for the first time facing a wind of change.
Boris Johnson’s decision to appoint Mirza, is a clear example of how racism devalues the thoughts and feelings of black people, after all the pain, loss and anger once again black people are being side-lined, with decisions being taken out of our hands.
That’s why I’ve started this petition calling for the black community to have a say on who should lead on this review, and that previous inquiries such as the Scarman Report, the McPherson Report, the Lammy report be taken into consideration in its final findings. Racism is a fine-tuned machine made up of many components, and what keeps it functioning with such precision is every individual that stands by and does nothing. If there is to be a review, we MUST have a say in who leads on it.
So I am asking you to sign and support my petition for the Prime Minister to appoint a lead for this commission with consultation of the black community, because then and only then will we have any faith that it will be conducted fairly and proportionately.
