Why this petition matters

Started by Kevin Mendes

Schools in Sri Lanka both International and local have been closed due to the current COVID-19 situation. As it has been drastically increasing in number.

However, students are supposed to sit for the London examination, which is not safe as the COVID-19 is spreading overly. Although, safety measures are taken it is still not very safe, as students travel from different places and most students use the public transport which is not very advisable.

The incubation period of COVID-19 is thought to be between one and 14 days. It is contagious before symptoms appear, which is why so many people get infected.

Moreover, if one student is suffering from the virus then the entire student body will have to quarantine themselves.

Only by acting in solidarity can communities save lives and overcome the devastating socioeconomic impacts of the virus.
The student council along with their families will not like to take the risk of sitting for the examination due the current situation.

Our world has reached an agonizing milestone: the loss of one million lives from the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a mind-numbing figure. Yet we must never lose sight of each and every individual life. They were fathers and mothers, wives and husbands, brothers and sisters, friends and colleagues.

Thank you for you consideration.
