Why this petition matters

The Bounce Back Loan submission date ends on 30th of November 2020 and pretty much all Banks have stopped accepting applications from Businesses who do not bank with them.  Telephone waiting times with Barclays are up to 3 hours long only for you to be told that no appointments can be scheduled in the UK before the cut off. This has had an impact on so many Business owners who do not bank with the major High Street Banks and in a lot of cases these are the less priviledged and minority group business owners.  Also, those who have had adverse credit history in the past and bank with lenders not offering the loan.  It seems that the system favours those who have access to High Street Lending Facilities and the more priviledged business owners and this is just not fair!  All business owners should be entitled to receive the Bounce Back Loan and all applications should be processed and the cut off date extended till at least mid 2021.  High Street banks should be encouraged to lend to all customers even if they are not existing customers.  The Government should also offer support to those banks that are not currently able to offer the loan so that more business owners have access to lending.
