BLUE SEAS PROTECTION CALL FOR AN "OCEAN SALVAGE TUG" ON STATION OFF CORNWALL

HISTORY DENOTES THAT THE CORNISH COASTLINE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST HAZARDOUS AREAS FOR SHIPPING. SALVAGE TUGS HAVE ALWAYS HISTORICALLY BEEN STATIONED THERE READY TO ASSIST CASUALTY SHIPPING AND SAVE LIVES AT SEA.  AT PRESENT THERE ARE NO OCEAN GOING TUGS TO BE SEEN IN THIS AREA. THIS LEAVES THE CORNISH , DEVON TO ISLE OF WIGHT COAST WIDE OPEN TO OIL POLLUTION FROM SHIPWRECKS ON OUR SHORES.  ALREADY, TEN DAYS INTO 2018, TWO LARGE CONTAINER SHIPS HAVE BEEN LOST IN THE ATLANTIC. IF THESE LOSSES WERE OIL TANKERS WE WOULD NOW BE KNEE DEEP IN OIL ON OUR SHORES .

WE CALL NOW FOR A COLLECTIVE EFFORT BETWEEN THE PUBLIC WILL, LOCAL COUNCIL AND GOVERNMENT TO FUND   "BLUE SEAS PROTECTION " IN PROVIDING THIS ESSENTIAL MARINE CONSERVATION AND PUBLIC PROTECTION SERVICE, SAVING OUR SEAS,  FIGHTING FOR OUR OCEANS.
