Like many pet owners, I am sick and tired of fearing for my pets life and welfare, due to the pointless enjoyment of others. 

The private use of fireworks is firstly very dangerous, and i feel that highly flammable and damaging substances like these should only be used by trained professionals.

The effects that fireworks can have on pets and livestock are without saying very substantial and evoke countless amounts of stress and anxiety on animals. 

Aswell as animals, fireworks also effect humans that are effected by the loud sounds or suffering from certain mental health issues such as PTSD.

As an equestrian, I probably have the biggest job on my hands when trying to manage my pets anxiety around this time of year and the events that happen. Horses can be extremely dangerous, as I know and are very prone to inflicting self harm when stressed or upset. 

In 2013 we had a horrific accident in the middle of the night, after neighbours set off fireworks in thier back garden, well and truly knowing there was animals and livestock nearby. My Horse, Skippy, got so petrified that he ran through some wired fencing and got his shoe jamed in-between the wire, where he was then stuck all night for us to find him the following morning very upset and lame. Skippy also cut his fetlock, trying to escape from his entanglement.

Therefore I urge you to sign this petition, in hope that we are able to lay down restrictions for the use of these pointless and dangerous substances and prevent anymore unfortunate accidents or worse, casualties.
