Majuli, "the world largest inhabitant river island."

Being a Majulian we are witnessing the terrible communication of the district with other districts. The shortest and easiest way from Jorhat or Guwahati is by the road and then catching a Ferry. But the transportation system is not organized well. The ferries are old, small, have no proper safety precautions and many other issues. The journey through a ferry is not safe. 

Now we witnessed the accident of two ferries, many lost lives and many lost dreams. And all because the ferry was not Safe, was late, has no safety measures, has no ticket collecting system, and didn't had help at proper time and this all summed up to a terror. 

We were promised a bridge, but it's more than half a decade now and nothing changed then just a pillar. We are tired of fake promises.

Some people are saying a bridge will damage the culture, but a culture can't exist without people being alive and safe, for some a bridge will invite problems, but this all are some personal reasons for business. Lives matter more!! We need to change the thoughts of these people.

We were provided with big advance boats but as it will make the big business men lose their money and the authorities saw it as a problem as it started with a loss, the boats are now a piece of decoration.

How long are they gonna cheat on us??How long will Majuli suffer??

Let's raise a voice this time, we know we are late but we still have a chance. 

Let's sign this petition for a well connected bridge, proper safety measures and let's make the Authorities and the Government hear our voices this time.
