Why this petition matters

Started by gail riley
At the moment a family member is only allowed one hour per day to spend with a close relative who is at end of life. Palliative care. Whether it be a mother. Father. Brother . Sister. Lots of families are not allowed to say goodbye. Reasons. Spread of infection. If the person who is at end of life care is in a separate room. Alone. Dying. Sedated . But awake . And given hours to live. Their families or a nominated family member should be allowed to hold their hand. Kiss them goodbye and that is their human right . On both sides. Not a stranger to hold their hand. It's a very traumatic. Upsetting time for all involved . And can lead to agonising guilt. Betrayal. And all other emotions. Affect the lives of relatives left behind.
