Our city of pearls is falling into dire straits, our lakes are depleting causing heavy rainfall and risking floods. People are losing lives and our city’s economy and environment are getting affected. It is the time to make a change and take initiative! Let’s aim to raise funds so that we can preserve, clean, build more and restore the lakes of Hyderabad. Hyderabad is now prone to massive floods and the main cause is our lakes. This city has more than 200 lakes which are now slowly reducing due to the harsh means of construction and pollution. If we do not have enough natural area to collect rainwater, where will it go? It can hit every shop on the road, sweep every family and obliterate a building. These lakes keep our atmosphere cool enough preventing heavy and intense rains. However, currently, this isn’t the case as the temperatures are tending to increase, improving the capacity to carry moisture. These heavy rains can reach 200mm in only a few hours; which can be atrociously destructive. If we experience 17 more days of intense rain, the city will experience massive and uncontrollable floods which can negatively impact the economy and environment. 

Therefore it is vital we take a step and work towards reducing these risks. How can we prevent negative impacts? We can aim to work on the main and root cause of this predicament, that being lakes. Thus, funds shall be raised so that the lakes can be cleansed; more can be built and older ones to be restored. In no time, Hyderabad will be back to its old and positively changing state.
