This petition is being written by a concerned mother, aunt, woman, neighbor, friend, etc. I write this petition wearing all the hats society would see fit to place on my head. In unison all the roles i play in this life is begging for the implementation of a NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SYSTEM. That is, a designated set of vehicles used solely for the purpose of taking children to and from school. This service needs to be offered in every parish across our country. It is a dire need! It is of utmost importance that our children have a secure means of commuting to and from school.

The Ministry of Education proudly proclaims "Every child can learn, every child must" but can we be holistic in our approach to change of any kind? Just this ONCE! Don't we need to get them to school safely and back for this learning to take place?

The Tichfield High School student (Panjal Kumar) who lost his life in a motor vehicle accident in Portland, should not have had his opportunity taken away from him because of a reckless driver. The many children who have lost their lives to reckless driving or to predators during their commute to and from school, should not have had their opportunity taken away from them either.

Every child can in fact learn, and every child must; let us take this responsibility seriously. Let us protect out children at ALL cost.

Can we start by securing their commute to and from school? 

Agreeably, rolling out a school bus system especially among high school students may be a challenge because currently they are cultured to take these God awful means of transportation. However, if we start with pre-school, basic school and primary school children, wouldn't that eventually change the culture among high school children? Wouldn't it also save a life or two?

It's all good and well to send out Ananda Alerts when a child goes missing but wouldn't we have a few less cases of missing children if we had a secure means of taking them to and from school?

Help me capture the attention of the powers that be. Help me highlight this need by signing this petition.
