One of the heroes of the Indian freedom movement, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, tragically died as a result of a plane crash at Taipei on 18 August 1945. His mortal remains have been preserved at Tokyo's Renkoji temple since 18 September 1945, without a final disposal as per Indian tradition. His only child Professor Anita Pfaff's has pleaded with the Indian government for a transfer of the remains to India. Full details in the book LAID TO REST: THE CONTROVERSY OVER SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE'S DEATH. Please read it and petition the Government of India.
