Abortion remains illegal in the Philippines under all circumstances and is highly stigmatized. While a liberal interpretation of the law could exempt abortion provision from criminal liability when done to save the woman’s life, there are no such explicit provisions. (Finer & Hussain, 2013). Many Filipino women experience unintentional pregnancies and because abortion is not legal in the Philippines they are forced to give birth or undergo unsafe procedures of abortion. Are you in favor of implementing abortion in the Philippines? If yes, why? If no, why not?
