Maddy Winslade started this petition to Gov.uk

Students are paying £9,250 a year to sit in front of a computer whilst being stuck in a small 4 walled bedroom. Most of the teachers are doing their best with the facilities given and this isn't me slating Universities rather the ridiculous fees we are still being made to pay. When in fact you can do on online degree at an open University for around £2000 a year? People go to University for the support and opportunities that come with the buildings on campus. We have been stripped of this and has impacted many students mental health. The aim of this petition is to take some money off of this ridiculous amount for students who can barely afford to get by and especially with the economic effects our country is going to suffer when we pull through this virus. Lack of jobs, lack of promised opportunities like studying and working abroad. £9,250 a year to me seems a laughable amount for what 3 hours worth of zoom calls a week? If that is what students wanted we would have gone with open University. I know the circumstances are horrible and can not be changed but surely the price we are being charged can when the University experience is not what it as promised this time last year. My belief is that it should be at least half and I know many fellow students agree with me.
