Call FEMA to Flint, MI for Immediate Water Relief!

This petition had 893 supporters

For more than a year, Flint residents have coped with lead-poisoned water coming through their taps.

Gov. Rick Snyder has declared a state of emergency, however he has yet to call in FEMA to bring fresh water for residents.  FEMA has sent staff in, but no operations have yet been authorized.

Investigative journalists and residents have shown that the state has known about the lead levels for a significant amount of time, but they have yet to organize water relief efforts.  Indigent residents must rely on charity.  Michigan neighbors, corporations, and nonprofits have donated water, but charity is not enough.

Gov. Snyder: we implore you to do your duty.  American citizens should not have to rely on charity when it has been shown the state is at fault for poisoning the water supply.  Call FEMA. Help Flint residents get the relief they need!
