My son was adopted through the fostercare system in Calfornia. When he was still a baby we learned his disabilities and healthcare needs would force us to move out of state and stay home with him. When he was 3 years old he was diagnosed with Autism and put in the Arizona longterm care system which funds his many services through the Dept. Of Developmental Disabilities. Recently we lost all of his services because he receives an adoption subsidy funded by the State of California instead of the Federal Government which they haved used against him as his own personal income when biological children are accepted solely on their disability. My hope is to protect the services of some of the children that need them most, children adopted out of the fostercare system.
