AK Perry started this petition to Gov. David Ige

Dear, Government/State Of Hawai’i/ETC,

Mauna Kea does not belong to anyone, it is sacred land to Hawaiians and this TMT bullshit needs to stop. This may be a poor comparison but how would Christianity followers (since it is a widely spread religion) like it if the government chose to put a 6 handed satanic star in every church, by law? Is it not disrespectful, insulting, and very distasteful (to the people)? The church is an open and sacred place. I’m sure Christians would be fighting the government about this as well.

But what “OUR” government is doing is just straight up wrong, they’re arresting kūpuna (elders) and hurting the land more than they realize (I believe some old Hawaiians are spiritually connected to such an area.) Signing this petition will hopefully get Hawaii’s government to realize that we are fighting for a reason. There is a reason all these people are out here risking and spending their whole lives protesting against these bastards. There are already 13 ‘smaller’ telescopes on the mauna (mountain), now you want -another- one that costs 8.3 million dollars to build? Are you going to make Hawaiians pay for it as well? There is so much wrong with this..

Hawai’i has been through enough, it’s Queen was taken over by foreigners, Hawaiians were almost slaughtered many times. What do you not understand? Why do you think there are so many people here, verbally fighting you with their aloha? They haven’t hurt anyone, this government has hurt more than helped. This is crossing the line. This fight has been going on since BEFORE 2012, it’s 2019. This is the “last” telescope they say, they said that 13 telescopes age. . .Get your act together.

Stop looking up there, while you’re killing down here.

Somethings that may need to be addressed more simply, because clearly some people do not understand what is happening;

•“I am not against science, but I am against irresponsible decision making in science.”

I may not be a completely trustworthy source of why or what exactly is happening at the moment (it’s also just worth noting that it’s tiring when you see tourists who claim things like; “Hawaii is my favorite place!” When they’re very much ignorant to what’s actually going on.) Again, none of this is absolutely correct. It is opinionated and could be considered biased by some.

I was feeling inspired nothing more and nothing less. Especially that nothing was being done, even if I’ve made a fool of myself I’d at least be pleased if anyone who saw this shared, so that people will not be so ignorantly aware that their “next tropical island vacation” may not be as spiritually inviting...

-With Aloha, to whom it may concern.
