Why this petition matters

Started by Erin Wiggins

In this VERY uncertain time, I as a parent cannot, with a good conscious, send my kids to school with the potential of being infected with Covid19.

We plan to take our own precautions to eliminate the risk that we could pose to their grandmother, who lives right beside us, and who plays a huge role in our daily lives.

My husband and I have made the decision, despite the direction of our state government, to keep our kids home from school until we are certain that the level of risk is low. Right now there are simply not enough tests available in our state to prove one way or the other.

I’m choosing to use the common sense that God gave me, going with my gut, motherly instincts, whatever you want to call it, and listening to the inner voice telling me that sending my kids to school is NOT worth the risk!

I’m more than willing to personally instruct and ensure completion of the assigned curriculum in order to keep my kids on track. I’m certain that other parents in our state feel the same way.

Please provide an online option for those of us that NEED, or want, to take our own precautions and are willing to personally contribute to decreasing the spread of this deadly virus.
