Traffic Reduction on Wright Ave.

Wright Avenue has become a short cut for Toronto drivers looking to avoid congestion on the Lakeshore and the Queensway.  Speeding, running stop signs, traffic jams and large truck traffic are regular occurrences on this residential street.  Other streets that run parallel to Wright already have traffic calming measures in place worsening volume on Wright.

We would like to make the street safer for pedestrians of all ages and quiet volume and congestion.  We think that a good starting point would be to prevent Wright from being a through-way street across Roncesvalles.  Presently, many drivers are using Wright to travel from Parkside through to Lansdowne during rush hour. Preventing drivers from turning onto Wright from Parkside and from crossing Roncesvalles to travel further along Wright, would be a good starting point.
