Google's Android is currently the most popular mobile operating system in the world. Part of the reason for this success is the developers who have created nearly a million different applications to improve the Android experience. In return, Google offers little to no actual support for developers who experience issues with the Google Play Store or have other issues developing and publishing their apps.
Google's primary method of support is a series of pre-determined Known Issues which address some, but not nearly all, issues Developers encounter on a regular basis. There are no true options for contacting anyone at Google to address issues outside of a few very select items for which Google provides e-mail support. Even the e-mail support inquiries are typically responded to using automated responses and not by Google employees. There is no way to effectively or consistently contact anyone at Google even in severe situations which impact or prevent a developer from publishing or distributing their application.
Google has the resources to provide effective support for the developers who support Android. Google should take immediate steps to improve their Developer Support - Android developers deserve better.
