A lot of people love to use classic Hangouts, and deleting Hangouts altogether will only make those of us who love it hate Google even more than we already do. People that got paid to have their artwork as one of the many backgrounds for Hangouts won't get that money anymore. Me and my friends despise Google Chat because: 1. on Hangouts you can just click multiple conversations and them open at the same time, and it takes more effort to do that on Google Chat, 2. Hangouts only needs to load one section of conversations instead of Chats, Rooms, and Meets, like on Google Chat, 3. Hangouts has cool hidden easter eggs in it, such as the konami code adds a mountain wallpaper to your current chat, or typing "/bikeshed" will change the background color of the chat. Google Chat doesn't have these easter eggs and it's a problem because my friends and I sometimes use those easter eggs to mess with each other.
