The Rio Olympics has cost more than expected. The stands have been emptier than they should have been; and yet the games have been magical - and inspirational for old and young alike. Rather than waste time accusing the IOC, the Brazilian government, broadcasters or those who've stayed away from the games (for whatever reason), I urge big corporations to do good - and do good quickly. Please - Apple. Google, Facebook, Uber and others: fund the gap to make the Palyampics as glorious and wonderful as they should be. Please help the world learn how we can respect and learn from each other. Please help us keep the fires of hope and optimism burning at a time when we are united by sporting excellence - rather than divided by mistrust, hatred and violence. This can be done. We the undersigned are urging - begging - you to allow all our dreams come true.
