As we all know, deforestation and climate change are serious issues right now in our society. We are losing forests at an unprecedented rate, especially tropical rainforests and jungles. These forests are centers of biodiversity and contain millions of species unknown to science. "Although they cover less than 2 percent of Earth's surface, rainforests house an estimated 50 percent of all life on the planet's landmasses"

This petition aims to convince Google to adjust its business model so they donate a portion of their surplus to tree-planting organizations. Another search engine, Ecosia, already does this, donating around 80% of its surplus revenue to various organizations around the world. So far they have planted around 72 million trees in various hotspots around the world. If Google adopted even just a small part of this business model, it could help reverse deforestation within three years.

   Thank you for your time.
