Change google's advertising policy for Cannabis companies

This petition had 122 supporters

We want to help change the restrictive advertising policy that Google currently embodies for the good of the entire Cannabis industry.

The advertising policy that is present currently in Google's model makes it very difficult (if not impossible) for companies attempting to market to the now 7 billion dollar Cannabis industry. Currently companies targeting keywords that would pertain directly to the Cannabis industry and help the relative consumers find the products they're looking for are being persecuted and Adwords accounts are becoming suspended.  These campaigns are being directly banned from advertising for their association to what google considers "Harmful substances", "Dangerous Products and services", & "Recreational substances" all relating to Marijuana indirectly.

Google is a main source of revenue for many online businesses and we are petitioning that some amendments be made to enable Cannabis related businesses to advertise as this is both a respectable and upstanding community that deserves the same recognition as any other.

There are thousands of patients that the cannabis industry helps everyday who have backgrounds consisting of conditions that are less than easy to cope with (Examples include but are not limited to Autism, Insomnia, Epilepsy, Cancer, Multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, Fibromyalgia, shingles etc)  Being able to advertise these Cannabis businesses to patients who holistically benefit from their regular products and services is very important. Please help us deliver this initiative to help the overall Cannabis community get the rights we deserve as a reputable industry.
