All Android devices, budget midrange and flagship, are entitled to atleast one OS UPGRADE

the world is changing fast, and this comes with the good and the bad side of technology. data about us is almost everywhere online, including sensitive data. this has mostly been made possible through handheld smartphones we have, most of which are android based, a software developed by google. the reason i care about OS and security updates for everyone is because we need to feel protected and not keep getting used by companies whose only agenda is to make profits. if a person buys a budget android device for $50, it does not mean he or she doesnt need to be protected from cyber criminals. money should not determine who deserves to be secure. cyber criminals use loopholes on older OSs to steal data and the most vulnerable group is those who buy budget smartphones, since nobody cares about them. to make this possible, companies like qualcomm and mediatek should make it easier for OEMs to create drivers for new OS updates whether its for chinese, american, or south korean manufacturers. in addition, OEMs should always be quick to offer these upgrades to consumers as quickly as they can. android is cheaper than IOS devices but in the long run, its more expensive. a person who bought iphone 5 in 2012 is still enjoying support from apple, while even google's own nexus and pixels only get OS upgrade for just two years. do not force us to buy new devices in order to protect us from cyber crime. security is a human right that should be offered for free!
