The recent announcment by youtube to remove the dislike count from being publically visible will lead to a massive uptick and people downloading viruses as well as falling victum to scams. Even though Youtube does actively try to remove this type of content, it is just not fast enough to be checked and removed before they are replaced. Education as a whole will also take a hit leading to more difficulty when learning a new topic. Another problem that needs to be addressed is the bot comments as these are mostly targeting small channels as well as up and coming ones. One bot net in particular called Ximer Tracks at its height had over a hundred duplicates all spamming comments and linking everything to a main channel that was designed to not even need to be accessed. This was in May of 2020 and is still actively running. It operates to trick you into making a video with copyrighted music. Best part is you will not be able to warn anyone that has watched the video or future viewers so a scamor virus channel will remain up for much longer before it is caught. Now possible solutions would be to develop when a cancel culture problem is eminating which can easily be tracked by the rate of dislikes to time since uploading. They probably won't do anything and we can't go anywhere else as any other platform than twitch which does streaming only will not be able to handle a fraction of Youtube's traffic thus exposing that Youtube is close to being a monopoly.
