For nearly 10 years GCI(Google Code In) has been a wonderful contest for both the open source organisations and the students. The Contest helped so many pre-university students to understand how open source works and how they can help to contribute. This years Google Code In 2019 was the most successful of all time . But Despite all this Google Open Source Team decides that its time for them to Stop GCI and look for more evolve ways to Approach Open Source. As per them the GCI is unsustainable. But the facts say that GCI has been one of the most finest Contest for students all over the world and is one that is sustainable . It helps open source organisations a lot. i personally have seen the boost and GCI gives to all the Open source organisations. Because of This i would like to request Google Open Source Team to rethink about there decision of retiring Google Code In.
