Envirotech/Sol Gardens is trying to overturn a decision by the Gold Coast City Council to refuse the development of a vocational training college in Currumbin Valley. Currumbin Valley locals are fighting them in the Court, alongside the GCCC, to stop them.

We can't let Envirotech win the appeal. It will ruin our beautiful valley, increase traffic along Currumbin Creek Rd and create parking hazards at the Rock Pools and Long Tan Park.

Sol Gardens (owners of Envirotech) already generates substantial noise affecting local wildlife and impacting neighbourhood peace, in addition to the rubbish regularly left behind after functions.

The proposed operating hours extending to 10pm each night and increased number of people at a training college to 111 at any one time will exacerbate these issues. Several hundred additional cars on the road daily until late at night could be the reality.

The proposed development is not consistent with the City Plan Strategic Framework for rural and hinterland areas. In short, the development's intensity, built form, traffic etc. would detract from the sense of place, natural landscape, quality of life, and values intended for Currumbin Valley.

We need your help to fight this inappropriate development. If this development is approved, it will be used as leverage by even more developers. Consequently, the rural qualities enjoyed by residents and visitors will be lost piece by piece.
