This teacher at Perry high school tried to undermine a student’s rights by making them stand for the pledge. Said student’s beliefs don’t allow them to stand for the pledge, and they voiced this to there teacher. But regardless of that the 1st amendment allows people not to stand for it. Most people stand for it out of respect or were simplest just taught too. Other students were in class watching this happen. The whole situation seemed,” racially motivated,” said another student in the class. There was no reason for the teacher to make such a scene over something that didn’t concern her. This is not fair and something should be done about this!
