There aren’t enough days in the weekend. Whether you’re in school, working, or just need an excuse to go out, the days of responsibility to days of fun ratio of 5:2 is far too disproportionate. I think we all agree that this is a necessity. However, adding a day (creating 8 day weeks) is far from realistic. The more realistic approach would clearly be replacing one of the current weekdays with a weekend. A change in name would not even be necessary. The only difference would be an absence of school, work, or other weekday responsibility on the agreed weekday/weekend replacement. This day could be close to the current weekend such as Monday or Friday, but could also be in the middle such as Wednesday in order of create a sort of barrier or “reset” in the middle of the week. These specific details are important but don’t need to be discussed without signatures on this petition. Once we have reached a greater number of signatures then we can discuss the specifics of the weekend replacement. This is a collective, international, universal effort to decrease stress, increase enjoyment of life, and allow greater creativity, amounts of positive attitude and mood, and allow for an overall happier world. Who knows, this might even end world hunger. So don’t hesitate. Make sure you sign and share with your friends, family, and even people you hate! :)
