Reducing time issues in the GMAT online exam

As we all know, because of the Covid-19 emergency, social distancing has become the primary security measure to prevent the spread of the virus.

Fortunately, even in this extraordinary situation, we can still take the GMAT exam online. This is an excellent opportunity for us to not to waste time and prepare better by exploiting isolation.

However, it has been established that during the test one may not use either scratch paper or a graphic tablet to take notes. We are only allowed to use a virtual whiteboard to write on, using the mouse ( https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat-online/prepare-for-your-exam/prepare-your-environment ). In this way, which is undeniably inconvenient, we will waste a lot of time. Therefore, there is an added difficulty in a test like this, where it is important to be quick.

For this reason, I suggest that we can at least use a graphic tablet to write notes, so that the exam can be as similar as possible to standard mode, reducing time issues.

----- ORIGINAL TEXT OF THE PETITION -----

To the GMAC Board of Directors:

We are very grateful that, despite the emergency that we are experiencing, it is still possible to take the GMAT exam online.

However, we are not pleased with the fact that, during the test, it will not be possible to use either sheets or a graphic tablet to take notes. We know that it is allowed to use a virtual whiteboard to write on with the mouse, but we believe that this method is very inconvenient and will make us waste a lot of time. Therefore, there is an added difficulty in a test like this, where it is important to be quick.

For this reason, we suggest that we can at least use a graphic tablet to write notes, so that the exam can be as similar as possible to standard mode, reducing time issues.

Sincerely,

Francesco Ventola
