Please sign this petition. It is disturbing that Global Design Concept, Inc. has placed profit over the protection of our children by allowing backpacks to be made with harmful toxins like Phthalates.
According to the 27th annual "Trouble in Toyland" report released by the U.S. Public Interest Research Groups (PIRG) Dora the Explorer backpacks were found to have high levels of phthalates, which is a chemical used to soften plastics that has been linked to multiple heath problems in children.
As a mom of 3 children I am outraged that my innocent little 2-year-old daughter, for whom I purchased 2 Dora the Explorer backpacks made by GDC, Inc., has been exposed to this harmful chemical because of the negligence of GDC Inc. and their willingness to put profit over protection of our children by choosing to not make safe products. We demand that they stop making backpacks and other bags with harmful toxins and refund all monies spent on buying their backpacks and bags.
