In 1988 McDonalds got a permission from the Communist party to start the business on the territory of the Soviet Union. That day Moscow McDonald's set a world record: it served more than 30 thousand visitors. People stood in line for over 6 hours, willing to get a taste of this unusual food.

Today McDonald's has over 750 restaurants in Russia, across 60 of the countries more than 80 regions. The company's total investments in Russia exceed $2.5 billion. Russians love McDonald's. From the day McDonald's opened in 1990 until now, the people of Russia have been fans of McDonald's and think of it as experiencing a piece of America.

The busiest McDonald's restaurant in the world is not in America but thousands of miles away in Pushkin Square. The store serves 30,000 customers a day, as busy as on opening day, Jan. 31, 1990.

Putins' criminal regime has invaded Ukraine after refusing to recognize it as a sovereign nation. Putins' criminal regime has indiscriminately bombed civilian areas, killing thousands of ordinary Ukrainians and has forced over 1 million Ukrainians to become refugees. Putins' criminal regime is also responsible for at least 3 failed assassination attempts on the life of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.

The world has responded with the most severe sanctions in history and global organizations are following suit by suspending all business with Russia. Russian Oligarchs have been targeted. 

McDonalds however... as of the writing of this petition, is still doing business in Russia. Let's send a strong signal to McDonalds with a complete boycott of McDonalds restaurants worldwide until they pull out of Russia and start feeding refugees. McDonalds needs to completely remove their presence and activity in Russia and feeds at least 1million+ Ukrainian refugees who have been displaced from their homes.
