Glenwood Landing Guardrails & Signage

The Little Neck-Douglaston community has been working hard to beautify Glenwood Landing for everyone to enjoy—and we want them to feel safe!

During rush hour, many commuters use the Nassau Street > 39th Road > Little Neck Parkway route in both directions as a shortcut from the traffic on Northern Boulevard and have no regard for the speed limit or narrow streets.

We need guardrails & slow signage along the 39th Road edge of Glenwood Landing in Little Neck to protect pedestrians from oncoming cars in both directions.  A guardrail keeps pedestrians safe from the speeding vehicles along this narrow strip.  Slow signage with reflectors or street paint with reflectors can alert drivers to slow down around the bend of the park.

We have families in this neighborhood that often walk along 39th Road & Glenwood Street with their small children and dogs to Glenwood Landing and we do not want to have to request this simple form of safety AFTER a tragedy has happened.
