Preserve the Verdugo Woodlands

We petition the Glendale City Council to ensure that the Design Review Board adhere to their own directive: to preserve the character of our neighborhoods.
The City of Glendale Design Review Board approved a project to build a 3,261 sq ft. two-story modern McMansion on Los Encinos Ave. The project exists in the hillside of Verdugo Woodlands, Glendale, CA. This is a quaint and charming neighborhood of mostly 1,300 sq ft one-story homes. The project will negatively impact six homes as they will lose privacy, view of mountains, air circulation, and sunlight. The project is incompatible with the spirit and character of the neighborhood. We will all suffer from this detrimental construction.
We are homeowners and residents who strongly oppose this design. The contemporary style and excessive mass and scale are totally incompatible with the unique historic character of our existing homes, built between 1920 and 1955.
Please help us preserve Verdugo Woodlands. Destroying communities like ours while property owners united are in opposition is detrimental to the city and the community.
Help preserve a historic community and those that live there.
Your street could be next!
We are gathering signatures to appeal to the Glendale City Council in hopes they will over rule the Design Review Board's decision. We hope to reach a compromise that allows the developer to build a house that is compatible with our quaint neighborhood.
Let us make a statement together. Sign your name to this petition to be heard! Preserve the Verdugo Woodlands!
