As a student of Glen Rose High School I would like to start a petition. I have been at Glen Rose my entire life and have always seemed to struggle with the dress code. I’ve never worn anything with my bottom or breast out or my stomach showing nothing really worthy of dress coding on a young lady but it seems to happen all the time. My friends and I have also struggled with it and it’s starting to get worse recently. I feel as if our bodies should not be considered a distraction in ANY circumstances, for we are human beings not “distractions”. We are getting dress coded for our legs showing, and top of our chest, and the bottom of our stomach. We’re being dress coded for small holes in our jeans and the leggings we wear. Things that should be okay to wear. With the dress code we currently have it feels like I’m going to a school where the length of my shorts is more important than my education. I’m being told at the age of 14 that my shoulders, my chest, my hips, and stomach “provoke” these boys. This needs to be changed, and fast. What we are being put through is not okay, so if you are a girl or boy I really hope you’ll sign and get us the help we want and need to fix this. Thank you.
