The current allocation of Glastonbury Festival tickets is a mess.

The amount of energy consumed by the hundreds of thousands of devices, vying for tickets is incredibly wasteful. The disappointment of having the booking page kick you out after entering all your details is immense. Whether you get tickets or not, it's a hugely stressful affair.

It would be a far more fair, environmental, and relaxed experience if tickets were allocated by raffle.

This would work in much the same way as the current system but, rather than everyone sitting round on Sunday morning, refreshing their browser(s), an algorithm would simply pick registered profiles at random. Get selected? Congratulations - you and your 5 friends (stated during 2-stage registration process) now have tickets.

No more frantically refreshing browsers! No more website crashes! No more stress! No more broadband speed/IP bias!
