Safe Road Crossing at Strathclyde
This petition had 2,202 supporters
The crossing by the Strathclyde University library on Cathedral Street sees thousands daily crossing over an unsafe and speedy road, with near collisions a daily reality, and traffic light provision being away from this busy cross-point. The current safety infrastructure does not meet the need, and with the plans to include a new large college, sports building, and student accommodation block in this section we believe it is essential that the growth in population on this section is catered for.
We are calling on the Council to ensure safe crossing and accessibility for the thousands of students, staff, and members of the public that rely on this crossing daily by:
- Installing a safe crossing of either a traffic light or a zebra crossing by Strathclyde Library on Cathedral Street.
- Reviewing traffic speeds coming on and off the motorway by assessing speed limits on Cathedral Street, and measures to prevent speeding.
Please support our petition to show your support for these measures on Cathedral Street.
