Public transport improvements and clean transport must come ahead of new roads with their dirt and disruption during construction and their legacy of future pollution.

I am signing because the damage to the green space, the local flora and fauna, the cutbacks to the public transport and the sheer inconvenience we will suffer massively outweighs the benefits.

The Government has failed to protect the environment and health of residents, especially children. They have a duty to ensure that safeguards are put in place. At the moment the long term adverse consequences outweigh the benefits of this project, and so it is wrong to approve this project without taking heed of the huge community objections.

wards of 15 BILLION on a tunnel that will take at least 7 years to build. Noise, pollution and disruption to people's lives, children at risk from heavy trucks passing through residential areas. and afterwards-children's lives at risk from exhaust fumes collected in the tunnel and released in a concentrated stream from huge unfiltered stacks. all this to reduce travel time on Military Rd by car, by 10 minutes.

what is needed is better public transport not a road tunnel.
Build a metro-

This very expensive tollway achieves nothing, 10% reduction of traffic on Spit Road. Pitiful. Fails the business case. Limited access for locals. Double tolling on all roads. Degradation of my local environment. Increased local traffic. It just doesn't stack up.

I’m signing because I do not want to see parkland being destroyed and a road/tunnel /plan that makes zero sense. I would agree if government is putting in public transport eg train/light rail but a toll road. Shaking my head. No thank you

The destruction of the old tip will cause contaminants to become airborne and will have a very negative impact on the surrounding residents.
Flat Rock gully will be shattered along with much of the wildlife habitats, and some animals will die out or never return.
Vibrations from giant haulage trucks will cause cracking and damage on surrounding houses, many of which are heritage.

I'm signing this petition because the use of the tunnel for public transport purposes has not even been considered. I am also signing it because what is proposed makes no environmental sense. Further, it is NOT good value for money for the majority of the population. It will disproportionatley benefit the shareholders and executives of toll road operators at the expense of the general community. Its benefit will be far outweighed by the cost both economic and environmental.

No traffic jam can justify irreparable and irreversible environmental damage plus affecting the health of the local community. Other countries have figured out how to do it properly, we can too.
Do better Gladys.
