I was going home after a walking exercise on the main road (western Sydney suburb). I was harassed by 4 teenage girls who were kicking dog poo, rubbish toward me, and spitting on the street while I was close by. I approached a police on duty for him to take action but he ignored me and said that these were not an offence. He was only looking for people breaching the mask regulation at the train station.

Currently, not wearing masks is considered a serious offence which is fined quickly by the police but spitting is not. Spitting is even more dangerous as it is direct contact of bodily fluids and speeds up the spread of COVID. This should apply to people of all ages and does not exclude teenagers who think they can get away with this. Lockdown in Sydney did not end sooner as planned and prioritising this regulation would be critical.

Lockdown was mean to end today and have been extended a another week with cases bigger case since lockdown first started on 26 of June I can’t see lock end on this 16th of July as plan yet
